Greetings!

Very excited about our program this week! We have invited all the agencies that we are supporting from our fundraising efforts to receive their checks. Please come early this week because we will need to start early to be done by 1 p.m.

We also plan to induct our newest member, Dale Conner, who is sponsored by Jennifer Dirkes and Mike Wade.

Greeter this week is Kenny Nicholson.

Menu for Thursday: Meatloaf with sides.

Last Friday we installed our final metal ramp from our District Grant "Ramps for Elderly" for an elderly kidney dialysis patient. A huge thank you to Jeff Baldwin, Mark Hinson, and Tom Schutte who volunteered to help in the cold demonstrated true Service Above Self.

Please continue to keep Carol Hennessee and family in your thoughts and prayers. Once the memorial service for Jack Hennessee is scheduled I will send out to everyone.

Charles Wolfe and Sunita Wright will be leaving this week for the Panama Project. They are still in need for Over the Counter medical supplies to take to Panama. Charles has requested if anyone would like to help to bring the following items by his office by the end of the day this Wednesday: band aids, gauze, Ibuprofen, Aspirin, Tylenol, Hydro Cortisone, anti-fungal, eye drops, antacids, and multivitamins.

The next Social will be March 30 at 5:30 p.m. The location will be the Best Western River Escape in Dillsboro. Please see Beth Bell if you have any questions. There will be no noon meeting on March 30.

The Tuck River Cleanup is Saturday, April 8 so please mark your calendars if you can volunteer. More details to come regarding the time and location for this service opportunity.

Our Pancake Breakfast is Friday, April 21 at Sylva's First United Methodist Church Christian Life Center. More details to come. We are looking for additional sponsors for the event. If you have questions please see Justin Hall or Bob Carpenter.

Remember to register for our District Conference in Hickory's Crowne Plaza complex. The main part is Saturday, April 29, with other events on Friday night and Sunday morning.

Our club has agreed to pay registration fees for 5 first time attendees on a first-come basis. To register for our District Conference, go to www.rotary7670.org or you can use this link:

Yours in Rotary Service,

Eddie

Remember that an easy way to do a make-up for a missed meeting is our Podcasts page on the Web at http://podcast.sylvarotaryclub.org. Click on the button underneath the photo of any of the speakers (it looks like the forward "arrow" button you'd see on most CD or DVD players), and your computer should start to play the presentation on your computer's speaker. THANKS to Scott Baker for creating and maintaining that page!
